The Underground Runners Society has searched far and wide for some of the best (and at times
unusual) races out there. We here at the URS are not paid by any of the caretakers of these sponsored
events, but we are will to have our palms greased. Shit, we aren't that proud. In any event, below are the
Official URS Endorsed Events.

Ocean City Marathon - Although 2008 will only feature a half marathon due to city construction, Ocean
City gets a URS Endorsement for many reasons. First and foremost, they have fantastic beer
(Yuengling). The event sports a fast and flat course during a race friendly month of April which usually
supplies it's entrants with cool temperatures. If that weren't enough, race director, Mark Shaw, provided
us with our church name. That in turn got us to proclaim his event as our "Mecca" marathon and pretty
much ensures Mark that he'll get whipped cream in his coco if he asks nicely for it.

Half Wit Half Marathon - If there was a half marathon we would want to put on, hopefully we would do a
fantastic rip-off of this one. The race organizers creatively describes the event as "a 13.1M rustic trail of
rocks galore, downed logs, bizarre aide stations, gnats & newts, crazy awards, memorable shirts, urban
horrors like the "128 Steps from Hell" and silliness that would make a jester jocular! " You'll never get a
PR, but you'll more than likely walk away from this experience muttering to yourself something to the
effect of, "Holy shit that was cool."
